I have been teaching in Kintyre for one or two weeks each sumer since 1999. These residential course are organized by Linda Bryce and held at her home, Crubasdale Lodge, in Muasdale. The house is just yards from the sea and there are wonderful views out towards the islands of Gigha, Islay and Jura. I look forward to going there every year.

In addition to the resident cats and chickens (as free range as they come — the deep yellow of Linda's creme brulée has to be seen to be believed), there is a wide variety of animal and bird life as well as some lovely wild flowers. Over the years we have seen otters, owls, bats, hares, rabbits, buzzards, herons, seals and dolphins along with the usual sea birds.
Everyone arrives in time for a meal at 6pm on Sunday and leaves after breakfast on the following Saturday. The formal lace teaching is from 9am to 1pm each day with a break for coffee. After lunch you can explore the area, continue with your lace (with my help if I’m around) or just sit in the sun with a book. It’s always very friendly and Linda’s cooking is wonderful, especially the desserts. You will find more information on Linda’s website. And you are welcome to with any lacemaking questions.
